Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups diced apples (mix of Fuji and Granny Smith)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the sugar and butter together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
- Fold in the diced apples gently to avoid crushing them.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Allow the loaf to cool before slicing for better texture.
