  • 1 package puff pastry (thawed)
  • 2 cups Granny Smith apples (peeled and diced)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with powdered sugar and set aside.
  4. In another bowl, toss the apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Cut the pastry into squares and fill each with a spoonful of cream cheese mixture and spiced apples.
  6. Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling and crimp edges to seal.
  7. Brush tops with beaten egg wash and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes
