Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites, room temperature
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
- In another bowl, whip egg whites to soft peaks, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the meringue until combined.
- Pipe the batter onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper and let rest until a skin forms, about 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then cool completely.
- Meanwhile, sauté diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon until softened.
- Assemble the macarons by sandwiching the apple filling between two shells.
Notes
