Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 4 apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mix flour and baking powder, then cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into squares.
- In another bowl, combine diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold the dough over to create a pocket and crimp the edges firmly to seal.
- Brush the tops with egg wash (beaten egg with a splash of milk).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
