Description

A lighter, weeknight-friendly take on an Italian-American classic that delivers big flavor without the frying.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1/2 cup panko
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • Hoagie rolls
  • Slices of provolone or fresh mozzarella
  • Lemon for squeezing
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Coat shrimp in a mix of panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Arrange shrimp on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet.
  4. Roast shrimp for 8–10 minutes until opaque and just firm.
  5. Warm marinara sauce in a small skillet.
  6. Toast the hoagie rolls.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches with shrimp, marinara, cheese, lemon, and basil.
  8. Broil for 1–2 minutes to melt the cheese.

Notes

Use a wire rack for crispiness and pat shrimp dry before coating to avoid sogginess.
