Description

Delicious homemade dumplings filled with savory goodness, perfect for cozy family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 lb ground beef (or vegetarian filling)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Butter for sautéing

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, eggs, and water to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth.
  2. Roll out the dough thinly and cut into squares.
  3. Prepare the filling by mixing ground beef, onions, and seasoning.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling on each square and fold into triangles, sealing the edges tightly.
  5. Boil the kreplach in seasoned water until they float to the top, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. For added flavor, sauté the boiled dumplings in butter with onions and garlic until golden brown before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, use sautéed mushrooms or potatoes as filling. Keep dough well floured to prevent sticking while rolling out.
