Description
A classic dessert that combines light, fluffy cake with rich custard and chocolate ganache, perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 ½ tsp baking powder
 - ¼ tsp salt
 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
 - 3 large eggs
 - ½ cup whole milk
 - 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
 - 2 cups whole milk (for custard)
 - ¼ cup cornstarch
 - 1 cup high-quality chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar
 - 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans.
 - In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
 - In another bowl, beat the softened butter until it’s fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each one. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
 - Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans.
 - Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cakes are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.
 - While the cakes are baking, make the custard. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together 2 cups of milk, cornstarch, sugar, and egg yolks. Cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Allow it to cool.
 - For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until it simmers. Pour it over the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth.
 - Once the cakes are cooled, layer the custard between the two cake layers. Pour the warm ganache over the top to finish.
