A cozy and nostalgic pie that combines buttery cookie dough, sticky maple-brown-sugar filling, and toasty pecans for a comforting dessert.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup (150 g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups (155 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter (for filling)
- 3/4 cup (150 g) packed brown sugar (for filling)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) pure maple syrup
- 2 large eggs (for filling)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (for filling)
- 1 cup (100 g) toasted chopped pecans
Instructions
- Cream 1/2 cup unsalted butter with 3/4 cup brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla; fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Press the dough into a greased 9-inch pie plate and chill for 10 minutes.
- Par-bake the crust at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
- For the filling, melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter with 3/4 cup brown sugar.
- Whisk in 1/2 cup maple syrup and 2 eggs, one at a time.
- Stir in 1/2 cup heavy cream and 1 tsp vanilla; fold in toasted pecans.
- Pour the filling over the par-baked crust and bake for 20–25 minutes at 350°F until the filling is set with a jiggle in the center.
- Cool for at least 1 hour before slicing; serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or pair with coffee for a delightful balance.
