Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 can (14 oz) tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups long-grain basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Optional: toasted almonds or cashews for topping
Instructions
- Sauté onions and garlic in butter until golden and fragrant.
- Add garam masala and turmeric to release essential oils.
- Brown the chicken pieces in the pan.
- Introduce the tomatoes and cream, simmer until chicken is tender.
- In a separate pot, cook the rice in water until fluffy.
- Serve chicken over rice, garnished with cilantro and nuts, if desired.
