Description

A delightful combination of tender chicken simmered in a creamy, flavorful tomato sauce served over fluffy rice, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups long-grain basmati rice
  • 4 cups water
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Optional: toasted almonds or cashews for topping

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions and garlic in butter until golden and fragrant.
  2. Add garam masala and turmeric to release essential oils.
  3. Brown the chicken pieces in the pan.
  4. Introduce the tomatoes and cream, simmer until chicken is tender.
  5. In a separate pot, cook the rice in water until fluffy.
  6. Serve chicken over rice, garnished with cilantro and nuts, if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours. Rinse the rice before cooking for a fluffier texture.
