Description

Crispy, spicy, and addictive Cajun Chicken Tenders that deliver bold flavors and satisfying crunch, perfect for weeknight dinners or game-day snacks.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb (700 g) chicken tenders or thin-sliced chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon)
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-2 beaten eggs
  • 2-3 cups vegetable or peanut oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken tenders in buttermilk and Cajun seasoning for extra tenderness.
  2. Dredge chicken in seasoned flour, dip in beaten egg, and then back into the flour.
  3. Heat oil to 350–375°F (175–190°C) in a skillet.
  4. Fry chicken tenders for 3–5 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Drain on a wire rack to keep bottoms crisp.
  6. Serve with dipping sauce and lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, add panko to the flour or do a triple-dredge. Resting the coated chicken helps the breading adhere.
