Description

Crisp, buttery puff pastry wrapped around spicy Cajun sausage makes a showstopping appetizer that’s fast and convenient.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of pre-rolled puff pastry
  • 12 oz sliced smoked Cajun sausage (Andouille or kielbasa)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Creole mustard or remoulade (for serving)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut puff pastry into squares.
  3. Stack sliced sausage and a pinch of cheese on each square.
  4. Fold or roll the pastry over the filling and seal edges firmly with a fork or by pinching.
  5. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
  6. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  7. Serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes

Keep everything cold for the best rise. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
