Description

A delightful twist on classic deviled eggs featuring a crispy, spicy coating.

Ingredients

  • 6 large Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dill Pickle Relish
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 2 large Eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Gumbo File Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika

Instructions

  1. Start by hard boiling the eggs. Once cooked, peel and slice them in half lengthwise. Scoop out the yolks and place them in a bowl.
  2. Add mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, yellow mustard, Cajun seasoning, hot sauce, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix until smooth.
  3. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  4. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko bread crumbs. Dredge the filled eggs in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat in panko.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the breaded eggs until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle smoked paprika over the top for added flavor and color.

Notes

For easier peeling, place boiled eggs in ice water immediately after cooking. Adjust seasonings to taste, and feel free to experiment with variations.
