Description

A delightful twist on the classic deviled eggs, these Cajun Style Fried Deviled Eggs are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, perfect for appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 6 large Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dill Pickle Relish
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Gumbo File Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs by placing them in a pot, covering with water, and bringing them to a boil. Cover and let sit off heat for 12 minutes. Cool in ice water.
  2. Peeled the cooled eggs and slice each in half, scooping the yolks into a bowl and setting the whites aside.
  3. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, yellow mustard, Cajun seasoning, and hot sauce until smooth.
  4. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  5. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko mixed with gumbo file powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Dip each filled egg half into flour, then beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the panko mixture.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry egg halves until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Sprinkle with smoked paprika before serving.

Notes

Serve garnished with fresh herbs or additional hot sauce. Best eaten the same day but can last up to two days in the fridge.
