Ingredients
- 4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- Sea salt for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
- Spread the apples in a baking dish and pour caramel sauce over them.
- In another bowl, mix oats, flour, and brown sugar. Add cold butter and blend with fingers until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples and caramel.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
- Serve warm, garnished with sea salt if desired.
Notes
Choose firm, tart apples for best results. You can substitute gluten-free flour or make it vegan with coconut oil and plant-based caramel.
