Description

Delightful twist on traditional rolls combining fluffy dough with a savory garlic and cheese filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm Water
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cornmeal
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Yeast
  • 1/2 cup Salted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (chopped)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Rise the Dough: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  5. Prepare the Filling: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
  6. Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  7. Add Filling and Cheese: Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly onto the rolled dough. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Roll and Cut: Roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice it into about 12 equal rolls.
  9. Final Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Serve: Brush with remaining garlic butter on top after baking and enjoy warm!

Notes

Best served warm; can be paired with marinara sauce for dipping. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days, refrigerate for a week, or freeze for 3 months.
