Delightful twist on traditional rolls combining fluffy dough with a savory garlic and cheese filling.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Warm Water
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 tablespoon Cornmeal
- 3 cups Flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 2 teaspoons Yeast
- 1/2 cup Salted Butter
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (chopped)
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Rise the Dough: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Prepare the Filling: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
- Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
- Add Filling and Cheese: Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly onto the rolled dough. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
- Roll and Cut: Roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice it into about 12 equal rolls.
- Final Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for another 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Brush with remaining garlic butter on top after baking and enjoy warm!
