Description

A delicious and easy dish that adds a fun twist to classic green beans with garlic and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound (about 500 g) fresh green beans, ends trimmed off
  • 1 and 1/4 cups mozzarella, shredded
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons shredded fresh parmesan
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped (or 1 tablespoon pre-minced garlic)
  • 3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and spray a baking sheet with nonstick oil.
  2. Spread the green beans out flat on the greased baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. Pour the oil mixture over the green beans and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until the beans are bright and slightly crisp.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the beans and return them under the broiler for 4 to 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
  7. Transfer to a plate and enjoy while hot.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic mixture. You can also experiment with different cheeses for added flavor.
