Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- Granulated sugar, for coating
Instructions
- Cream together softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Mix in molasses and egg until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the chilled dough into balls and coat with granulated sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
