Description

These Chewy Gingerbread Cookies are warm and flavorful, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • Granulated sugar, for coating


Instructions

  1. Cream together softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  2. Mix in molasses and egg until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll the chilled dough into balls and coat with granulated sugar.
  8. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
