Description
Delicious and quick Chicken Shawarma Wraps packed with marinated chicken and creamy garlic yogurt sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- Fresh veggies (cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.)
- For Garlic Yogurt Sauce: 1 cup plain yogurt, 2 cloves garlic, minced, 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, coat well, and let sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated chicken thighs.
- Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove chicken, let cool slightly, then slice or shred.
- For the garlic yogurt sauce, mix yogurt, minced garlic, olive oil, and salt in a bowl.
- Warm the pita bread lightly.
- Assemble the wraps by placing chicken and fresh veggies inside the pita.
- Add a generous dollop of garlic yogurt sauce and wrap tightly.
- Serve warm with extra garlic yogurt sauce and veggies on the side.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Chicken can be frozen for up to 2 months.
