Description
A quick and flavorful dish featuring udon noodles tossed in a spicy chili garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pack Udon Noodles (Fresh preferred)
- 2 cloves Garlic (Finely minced)
- 1 thumb-sized piece Ginger (Fresh)
- 1 tbsp Chili Oil
- 1 tsp Chili Flakes (Optional)
- Pinch Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Dark Rice Vinegar
- 4 tbsp Granola/Peanut Oil
- 1 tsp Pure Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp White Sesame Seeds
- 1 tbsp Sliced Spring Onion Greens
- 1 tsp Black Sesame Seeds
- 1 Egg (Optional; substitute with fried tofu for a vegan option)
Instructions
- Cook the udon noodles according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the granola or peanut oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the oil. Sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the chili oil and optional chili flakes, mixing well.
- Add the cooked udon noodles to the skillet.
- Pour in the soy sauce and dark rice vinegar, tossing everything together until combined.
- Drizzle the sesame oil over the noodles and mix again.
- Season with salt to taste and cook for another minute to heat through.
- If using, crack the egg into the skillet and stir to scramble until fully cooked.
- Remove from heat and garnish with white sesame seeds, sliced spring onion greens, and black sesame seeds.
Notes
Use fresh udon noodles for the best taste and texture. Adjust chili oil and flakes to suit your spice preference.
