Description

Delightful cookies combining rich chocolate and tart cherries, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226g) softened butter
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (175g) dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (150g) chopped cherries (fresh or frozen)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking tray.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, checking at the 12-minute mark.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a chewier cookie, chill the dough before baking. Use quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
