Ingredients
- 1 cup (226g) softened butter
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50g) cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup (175g) dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup (150g) chopped cherries (fresh or frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries, being careful not to overmix.
- Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking tray.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, checking at the 12-minute mark.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a chewier cookie, chill the dough before baking. Use quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
