Ingredients
- 3 medium overripe bananas (about 1 1/2 cups mashed)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter (or 1/3 cup neutral oil)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Mash the overripe bananas in a large bowl.
- Whisk in eggs, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or cream cheese. Store slices in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
