Description

A festive appetizer combining tangy cream cheese, sweet-tart cranberries, and crunchy toasted pecans, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz (450 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup chopped dried cranberries
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans for rolling
  • A few whole cranberries for garnish


Instructions

  1. Bring cream cheese to room temperature.
  2. Beat cream cheese with sour cream, brown sugar, lemon zest, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Fold in chopped cranberries and half of the pecans.
  4. Shape mixture into a ball and chill for at least 2 hours.
  5. Before serving, roll the cheese ball in remaining chopped pecans and garnish with whole cranberries.

Notes

For best results, chill overnight. Serve with assorted crackers or sliced baguette.
