Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
