Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
