Delightfully festive cupcakes decorated to resemble Christmas trees, perfect for holiday gatherings and gifting.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
- Green food coloring
- 1 cup buttercream frosting
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Gradually mix into the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
- Scoop the batter into the lined muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool.
- Once cooled, tint the buttercream frosting with green food coloring. Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to pipe the frosting onto each cupcake, resembling Christmas trees.
- Decorate with sprinkles and let the frosting set.
Notes
Allow the frosting to chill if too soft for piping. Experiment with different toppings and decorations to personalize each cupcake.
