Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
- Additional sugar and cinnamon for swirl
Instructions
- Mix sourdough starter, flour, warm water, pumpkin puree, sugar, spices, and salt to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough until elastic, then let it rest and ferment for several hours or overnight.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture, and roll it up tightly.
- Shape into a loaf and place in a loaf pan.
- Let rise until doubled in size, then bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool before slicing and enjoy!
