Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark, milk, or white)
  • Optional: chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or pecans)
  • Optional: sea salt


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter and sugar together over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  2. Cook the mixture until it reaches a golden-brown color and a temperature of 300°F (hard crack stage).
  3. Pour the toffee mixture onto a lined baking sheet and spread evenly.
  4. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let them melt, then spread the chocolate over the toffee.
  5. Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
