Description

Warm and comforting pumpkin custard that is a delightful treat perfect for fall.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  3. Add in heavy cream and milk, whisking until well combined.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve for extra creaminess.
  5. Pour the custard into ramekins and place them in a deep baking dish.
  6. Fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean with a slight jiggle in the center.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool, then refrigerate until serving.
  9. Serve chilled or at room temperature, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

For a unique flavor, try adding maple syrup or vanilla extract. Ensure eggs are at room temperature for a smooth custard.
