Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (such as pecans or hazelnuts), chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients: flour, spices, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped nuts.
  7. Chill the dough for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
  8. Form the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.
