Description

Savory turkey meatballs glazed with a sweet and tangy cranberry sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Yellow Onion
  • 3/4 cup Whole-Fat Greek Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Fresh Thyme Leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Fresh Sage Leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey (94% lean)
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 cup Canned or Homemade Cranberry Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Whole Grain Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Finely Grated Orange Zest
  • 2 tablespoons Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the egg, chopped onion, Greek yogurt, thyme, sage, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Add the ground turkey and panko bread crumbs to the bowl, and mix until everything is combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the cranberry glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, whole grain mustard, and orange zest. Heat over medium heat until the sauce is warm and mixed well.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, drizzle the cranberry glaze over them, or toss them in the glaze before serving.

Notes

Make sure to chop the onion finely to keep the meatballs tender. Do not overmix the meat mixture to avoid tough meatballs.
