Description

A delightful dish that combines crispy chicken with rich gravy, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, butterflied
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for gravy)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ teaspoon salt (for gravy)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (for gravy)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for gravy)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Butterfly cut the chicken breasts and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Let sit.
  2. Combine 1 cup of flour with additional seasonings in a shallow dish.
  3. Dredge chicken in the seasoned flour, coating well.
  4. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  6. Add minced garlic and 2 tablespoons of flour to the skillet, stirring for 1 minute.
  7. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring continuously.
  8. Add gravy seasonings and cook until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Return chicken to skillet or pour gravy over chicken, serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate chicken in buttermilk before cooking. Pat chicken dry for a crispier texture.
