Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, butterflied
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ teaspoon salt (for gravy)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (for gravy)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for gravy)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Butterfly cut the chicken breasts and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Let sit.
- Combine 1 cup of flour with additional seasonings in a shallow dish.
- Dredge chicken in the seasoned flour, coating well.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic and 2 tablespoons of flour to the skillet, stirring for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring continuously.
- Add gravy seasonings and cook until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Return chicken to skillet or pour gravy over chicken, serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate chicken in buttermilk before cooking. Pat chicken dry for a crispier texture.
