A delicious and easy breakfast casserole featuring fluffy eggs, savory sausage, and melted cheese wrapped in a crescent roll crust.
Ingredients
- 1 package crescent roll dough (8 oz)
 - 6 large eggs
 - 1 cup milk
 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
 - 8 oz breakfast sausage
 - 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
 - 1/2 cup chopped onions
 - 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
 - 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
 - Fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or thyme)
 - Diced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes for spice
 
Instructions
- Brown the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and browned. Drain excess grease and set aside to cool.
 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
 - Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Unroll the crescent roll dough, pressing seams together to form a solid crust covering the bottom and sides of the dish.
 - Sprinkle cooked sausage evenly over the dough. Add a layer of shredded cheese and any veggies or herbs.
 - Pour egg mixture evenly over layered ingredients, allowing it to soak in.
 - Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until eggs are set and crust is golden brown. Let it cool slightly before serving.
 
Notes
Use a mix of cheeses for richer flavor. Feel free to add or substitute veggies based on availability.
