Description

Enjoy the sweetness of apples in a fun and healthy way with these crispy air fryer apple fries, perfect for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 65 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 60 grams panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Cooking spray
  • 120 milliliters caramel sauce (optional)
  • 120 grams vanilla yogurt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel apples if desired and cut into wedges about 1.25 centimeters thick. Remove cores and seeds.
  2. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl. Add half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture to the breadcrumbs and mix.
  4. Coat each apple wedge in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, and press into the breadcrumb mixture until well coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C for 3 minutes. Arrange the apple wedges in a single layer in the basket and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  6. Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning once, until the apple fries are crisp and golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar over the hot apple fries. Serve immediately with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Coat evenly and avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
