Description

Delicious and customizable pan-fried dumplings filled with ground meat or tofu and finely chopped vegetables, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ground Meat (or tofu for a vegetarian option)
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Vegetables (cabbage, carrots, or mushrooms)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil (or olive oil for a lighter profile)
  • 20 pieces Dumpling Wrappers (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons Oil for Frying (neutral oil like vegetable or canola)
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions (sliced)
  • Dipping Sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground meat or tofu, finely chopped vegetables, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place a small spoonful of the filling in the center.
  3. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and press to seal. Optionally, pleat the edges for decoration.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the dumplings in a single layer.
  5. Fry the dumplings for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  6. Carefully add a splash of water to the pan and cover it immediately. Allow the steam to cook the dumplings for another 5 minutes.
  7. Once the water has evaporated, uncover and let them fry for another minute or until the bottoms are crispy again.
  8. Remove the dumplings from the pan and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

If you have leftovers, cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat by pan-frying over low heat until hot and crispy.
