Description

Delicious and healthy snacking alternative to traditional chips, made with real onions and zesty seasoning for a perfect crunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet onions (e.g., Vidalia or Walla Walla)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • Your favorite seasonings (e.g., smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Thinly slice the onions (about 1/8 inch thick).
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, and seasonings.
  4. Coat each onion slice in the mixture evenly.
  5. Place the coated onion slices on a baking sheet, ensuring they do not overcrowd.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy, checking around the 20-minute mark.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve with a dipping sauce of your choice.

Notes

Store cooled chips in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in a preheated oven to restore crispiness.
