Ingredients
- 2 large sweet onions (e.g., Vidalia or Walla Walla)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal

- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Thinly slice the onions (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, and seasonings.
- Coat each onion slice in the mixture evenly.
- Place the coated onion slices on a baking sheet, ensuring they do not overcrowd.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy, checking around the 20-minute mark.
- Remove from the oven and serve with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Notes
Store cooled chips in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in a preheated oven to restore crispiness.
