A cozy and hearty casserole made with ground beef, creamy potatoes, and savory seasonings, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium russet potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef with onions and garlic in a skillet; drain excess fat.
- Layer the uncooked sliced potatoes in the crockpot.
- Add half of the beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
- Spread cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese on top.
- Add another layer of potatoes, followed by the remaining beef mixture.
- Top with the remaining potatoes and finish with the remaining cheese.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
Notes
For best results, do not stir during cooking. Use russet potatoes for better texture and consider browning the meat for enhanced flavor.
