Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup green olives, sliced
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in bell pepper, olives, raisins, tomato sauce, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-25 minutes until flavors meld.
- Serve over rice or as a filling for tacos or empanadas.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with plant-based ground meat or lentils. Adjust sweetness with raisins and balance flavors with salt.
