Description
An incredibly easy dessert with layers of chocolate cake and creamy peanut butter, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped peanut butter cups (plus extra for topping)
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate or caramel drizzle, crushed pretzels
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
- Spread half of the batter into the baking dish.
- Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter over the batter and swirl it gently.
- Sprinkle the chopped peanut butter cups evenly over this layer.
- Spread the remaining cake batter on top of the peanut butter cups.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean (a little gooey is okay).
- Top with extra peanut butter cups and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Consider using dark chocolate cake mix for a richer flavor. Adjust the number of peanut butter cups to taste.
