Description

An incredibly easy dessert with layers of chocolate cake and creamy peanut butter, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped peanut butter cups (plus extra for topping)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate or caramel drizzle, crushed pretzels

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Spread half of the batter into the baking dish.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter over the batter and swirl it gently.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped peanut butter cups evenly over this layer.
  6. Spread the remaining cake batter on top of the peanut butter cups.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean (a little gooey is okay).
  8. Top with extra peanut butter cups and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Consider using dark chocolate cake mix for a richer flavor. Adjust the number of peanut butter cups to taste.
