Description

Spooky and fun cookies that combine rich chocolate flavor with playful decorations, perfect for Halloween parties.


Ingredients

  • 1 box Devil’s Food Cake Mix
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Black Food Coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (optional)
  • 1-3 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Green Food Coloring
  • 1 cup Round Green Sprinkles
  • 1 cup Candy Eyeballs
  • 1 cup Pretzel Sticks


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the Devil’s Food Cake Mix, eggs, and canola or vegetable oil. Add black food coloring if desired.
  3. Stir the mixture until well combined.
  4. Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm. Let the cookies cool completely.
  6. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  7. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and milk, mixing well to reach your desired consistency.
  8. Add green food coloring and mix until fully incorporated.
  9. Once your cookies are cooled, frost them with the green buttercream frosting. Decorate with round green sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and place pretzel sticks on top.
  10. Serve these fun cookies on a festive platter.
