Description

A foolproof, fresh guacamole recipe that’s anything but bland, packed with flavor and freshness.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium avocados
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 medium roma tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 medium jalapeño, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Halve the avocados, pit them, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash them to your desired chunkiness.
  2. Squeeze in the lime juice immediately to keep the guacamole green and mix in the salt.
  3. Fold in the diced onion, tomato, and cilantro, and add the chopped jalapeño.
  4. If desired, sprinkle in cumin and black pepper, then gently stir until mixed but not over-mixed.
  5. Serve immediately or store with plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface to minimize browning.

Notes

Adding extra lime juice can help preserve freshness and prevent browning. Serve with tortilla chips, on tacos, or as a spread.
