Description

A creamy and flavorful butter chicken that tastes like a five-star dish, perfect for dinner any night of the week.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder (or smoked paprika/cayenne)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 onion, chopped


Instructions

  1. Chop the chicken and marinate with yogurt, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, and spices for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Melt butter in a pan, add onions, then add the marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  3. Pour in the tomato puree and additional spices, allowing it to simmer until thick.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and a little more butter for a glossy finish. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve hot with rice or naan.

Notes

Marinate longer for better flavor. Add water or milk to adjust sauce consistency. Invest in high-quality butter for better taste.
