Description

Warm and satisfying Korean braised tofu, featuring rich flavors from soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil.

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces extra-firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Marinate the tofu in a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat and sauté the tofu until golden brown on all sides.
  4. Add the remaining marinade to the pan and braise the tofu, allowing it to soak up the flavors for about 10 minutes.
  5. Serve the braised tofu over steamed rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a spicier version, add gochujang. You can store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
