Description
A crispy Indian snack made from chickpea flour and spices, perfect for munching anytime.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ajwain, and salt.
- Add water gradually to form a smooth dough.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan to around 350°F (175°C).
- Using a sev maker or piping bag, shape the dough into thin strands.
- Carefully drop the strands into the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy.
- Remove the fried sev and drain on paper towels.
- Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent greasy sev. Store in an airtight container to maintain crunch.
