Description
A delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors, these roasted pears topped with goat cheese, hazelnuts, and thyme are an impressive appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
- 4 pieces Pears (Firm varieties like Bosc or Anjou)
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 100 grams Goat Cheese (Or substitute with feta)
- 50 grams Sultan Raisins (Can replace with golden raisins or dried cranberries)
- 50 grams Chopped Hazelnuts (Substitute with walnuts or pecans if needed)
- 1 tablespoon Honey or Fiber Syrup (Optional)
- 2 teaspoons Fresh Thyme (Dried thyme can be used as a substitute)
- 50 grams Gruyere Cheese (Can swap with mozzarella or fontina)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the pears in half and remove the seeds.
- Place the pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up.
- Sprinkle sea salt over the pears to enhance their flavor.
- Crumble goat cheese over each pear half.
- Add sultans raisins and chopped hazelnuts on top of the cheese.
- Drizzle honey or fiber syrup over the pears if you want extra sweetness.
- Sprinkle fresh thyme on top.
- Finally, add a layer of Gruyere cheese over everything.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the pears are tender and the cheese is melted.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg before baking. Serve on a bed of greens for presentation.
