Description

Delightful saffron-infused buns, soft and fluffy, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F or 43°C)
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Infuse warm milk with saffron and let steep.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, yeast, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix wet ingredients with dry; knead until smooth.
  4. Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  5. Shape into spirals and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a twist, add dried fruits or nuts to the dough. Allow buns to cool before storage.
