Delightful saffron-infused buns, soft and fluffy, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F or 43°C)
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Infuse warm milk with saffron and let steep.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, yeast, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- Mix wet ingredients with dry; knead until smooth.
- Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Shape into spirals and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For a twist, add dried fruits or nuts to the dough. Allow buns to cool before storage.
