Description

A creamy, cheesy, and flavorful mac and cheese dish featuring BBQ chicken that is sure to satisfy cravings and impress guests.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie or grilled)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)


Instructions

  1. Boil the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions, but remove from heat while still slightly chewy.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat, add the shredded chicken, and pour in the BBQ sauce. Let it bubble gently to infuse the chicken with flavor.
  3. Lower the heat and gradually add the cheddar cheese, stirring in a splash of milk as it melts to create a smooth sauce.
  4. Fold in the cooked pasta until it is well-coated and glossy.
  5. Taste and add salt, pepper, and more cheese if desired.
  6. Divide into bowls and top with extra BBQ sauce or green onions as desired.

Notes

For a crunchy topping, add crispy fried onions or buttery breadcrumbs before serving.
