Description
A simple and foolproof banana bread recipe that yields a moist loaf, perfect for breakfast or snacks.
Ingredients
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup (75 g) melted butter
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×4-inch loaf pan with parchment.
- Mash the bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.
- In one bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture along with the mashed bananas until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool before slicing.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Measure flour accurately to avoid a dense loaf.
