Description

A simple and foolproof banana bread recipe that yields a moist loaf, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup (75 g) melted butter
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×4-inch loaf pan with parchment.
  2. Mash the bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.
  3. In one bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture along with the mashed bananas until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool before slicing.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Measure flour accurately to avoid a dense loaf.
