Description

Delicious and festive cookies perfect for Halloween celebrations, decorated with colorful frosting and sprinkles.


Ingredients

  • 1 box Devil’s Food Cake Mix
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Black Food Coloring (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1-3 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Green Food Coloring
  • 1/4 cup Round Green Sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup Halloween Sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup Candy Eyeballs
  • 12 sticks Pretzel Sticks


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Devil’s Food Cake Mix, eggs, and canola oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. If desired, add the black food coloring and mix well until fully combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are slightly firm. Allow them to cool.
  6. While the cookies are cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and milk until smooth.
  7. Divide the frosting into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl for bubbling potion frosting.
  8. Frost the cookies with the black frosting and add the green frosting on top to create a cauldron effect.
  9. Decorate with round green sprinkles, Halloween sprinkles, and candy eyeballs on top.
  10. Stick a pretzel stick into each cookie to serve as stirring wands.

Notes

Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them to avoid melting. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
