Description

A simple and comforting recipe for tender chicken dumplings made in one pot, perfect for cozy nights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp whole peppercorns

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and water until you form a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until the dough is elastic. Let it rest under a damp cloth for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine the chopped chicken thighs, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. Divide the rested dough into equal portions. Roll each piece out thinly to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Place one tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold over to create half-moons and seal the edges tightly.
  5. Bring the chicken broth to a gentle boil. Drop in the dumplings and cook until they float, which takes about 5-7 minutes.

Notes

Make sure the dough is not too sticky; adjust with a little more flour if needed. You can customize the filling by adding chopped vegetables or using different proteins.
