Ingredients
- 2 cups Milk (Any type of milk can be used, such as whole, almond, or oat milk.)
 - 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder (Unsweetened cocoa powder for rich chocolate flavor.)
 - 2 tablespoons Sugar (Adjust to taste; alternatives like honey or agave syrup can be used.)
 - 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (Adds warmth and characteristic Mexican flavor.)
 - 1 pinch Salt (Enhances the chocolate flavor.)
 - 1 tablespoon Chocolate Chips (Optional, for extra chocolatey experience.)
 
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, pour in the milk and stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
 - Add the cocoa powder and whisk vigorously to combine as the milk heats.
 - Sprinkle in the sugar and whisk until fully dissolved.
 - Add the ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt, stirring well to infuse the flavors.
 - Increase the heat slightly and stir until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
 - If using, add the chocolate chips and stir until melted.
 - Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and serve immediately, optionally topping with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.
 
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Experiment with flavored milk alternatives like vanilla or chocolate almond milk.
