Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together to eliminate lumps.
  2. Whip egg whites to stiff peaks.
  3. Gently fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Pipe circles onto a baking sheet lined with silicone mats.
  5. Let the piped macarons rest until they form a dry skin, about 30 minutes.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 285°F (140°C) for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool before filling with your desired filling.

Ensure room temperature egg whites are used for best volume when whipping. Consider aging egg whites in the refrigerator for 1-3 days for optimal results.
